Walk for H

Walk for H is our primary public awareness/ education campaign, hosted by the Rock n’ Roll Marathon series.  Its purpose is to educate society about the sheer prevalence of persistent Socially-Transmitted Viruses, focusing primarily upon HSV & HPV as, although they may not be aware of it, the majority of society is actually personally impacted by at least one of these viruses.  By engaging and educating them on this fact, we believe solving the problems that all these viruses can cause is far more personal and creates a stronger call to action.

In addition, the Walk for H gives individuals an opportunity for personal growth.  While the public has no way of knowing,or even assumes that the individual participants actually have an STV, many of the individuals who do participate claim a tremendous sense of overcoming their personal stigma issues and report a tremendous sense of empowerment upon participation.  There must be some truth to it, as we’ve seen transformational courage and determination emanating from them with each passing event.  Their former fears disappear as they themselves become far more empowered and engaged in the fight against STVs.
